Katie Peurrung is an experienced photographer specializing in portraiture and photojournalism currently based in New York City, and originally from the dry desert of Eastern Washington. She is motivated by the study of human behavior behind the lens and photography's effect on society in a broader sense, which she pursues academically at NYU Gallatin's School of Individualized Study. She feels the most at peace with a camera in hand and when she isn't photographing for personal projects or publications, she enjoys cultivating a sustainable lifestyle and taking photos of the people in her life. The only thing she loves more than photography is her dog, Deena.
